How we build
Why our fences don’t lean after the first winter
Connecticut ground freezes deep every winter and thaws every spring. That cycle pushes shallow posts up and out of line — so we dig below it.

Dug below the frost line
Post holes go about 42 inches deep, past the soil that freezes.
Concrete footings that shed water
Crowned at the top so rain runs off instead of pooling at the post.
Strung, leveled, measured
String lines and levels on every run, so lines stay straight and tops stay even.
Tested before we leave
Gates swing and latch, and we walk the line with you before we call it done.

FAQ
Composite fence questions
How is composite different from vinyl?
Both are low upkeep. Vinyl is a smooth plastic, usually white or tan. Composite is made with wood fiber, so it looks more like stained wood and comes in wood tones.
Does composite rot?
Composite does not rot the way wood does. Like any outdoor material it can weather a little in its first seasons. We will show you the maker’s information for the product you choose.
Is composite worth the extra cost?
If you want the look of wood and do not want to stain a fence every few years, it can be. We will price it next to wood and vinyl so you can compare.
