FAQ

Service area questions

  • Do you work in my town?

We are based in New Britain and serve Middletown, Avon, West Hartford, Glastonbury, Rocky Hill, Newington, Southington, Cheshire, Berlin and Farmington. If your town is not on the list, call us. We may still cover you.

  • Do I need a permit for a fence in my town?

It depends on the town. Under the state building code, a fence up to 7 feet needs no building permit unless it is a pool barrier, but each town sets its own zoning rules. We check your town’s rules before we build and help with the permit step when one is needed.

  • How deep do you set fence posts?

We set posts below the Connecticut frost line, about 42 inches down, in concrete. That is the step that keeps a fence from leaning after the freeze-and-thaw of our winters.
